Buttonbush (Cephalanthus occidentalis)

A shrub or small tree that gets its name from its fragrant ball like cluster of white flowers which bloom May-August.  A good source of nectar for butterflies and seeds for ducks and deer.  Does well in swampy conditions.  Will grow to 30' in height and 8" in diameter
